Finished sweetrolls popover recipe from the Elder Scroll Skyrim game series. H

HappyNew Year, everyone! Here’s a request I’ve gotten from a few separate individuals: the renowned pastry of the Elder Scrolls series, the Sweetroll.

Unlike many of the Sweetroll recipes by other nerdy chefs I checked out, this procedure is essentially a popover made in a mini bundt pan instead of a cake or muffin. With a very hot oven temperature you’ll observe a dramatic rise in the batter that, when inverted, will yield this iconic shape with an almost hollow interior. Another happy coincidence in using a popover batter is that the necessary ingredients are exactly the same as those needed in game (although in different quantities), which I thought was very cool. So grab a salt pile, a jug of milk and click ‘Continue Reading,’ and we can get started on this Fus-Ro-Dahlicious pastry!

You can blame my friend, Fox, for the pun…   ._.

As Zelda month draws to a close, I bring you the final soup from Snowpeak Ruins. I’ve admittedly fallen behind schedule a bit, but even if it goes up in early December, I do have one more Legend of Zelda recipe up my sleeve for you guys. That being said, it’s time for a cup of cozy.

Deep in the puzzling labyrinth of Snowpeak Ruins, there is a chest containing a wheel (or rather a torus) of Ordon Goat Cheese. Although not nearly as cool as the Ball and Chain or helpful as the Big Key, this fine ingredient can once again be brought to Yeto to be made into a healthful elixir.

Unfortunately, my grocery store doesn’t import from Ordon Village, so I had to substitute normal goat cheese for this recipe. But adding to that some roasted potatoes and a little beer (gasp!), we can still make quite the Superb Soup indeed!

Jeez, Link. Don’t look so disappointed…

As always, click ‘Continue Reading,’ to begin!

Slice of Butterscotch Cinnamon Pie from Undertale game series.

The hotly anticipated UNDERTALE was released on Steam a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been having a ton of fun with it. Being a non-traditional RPG, I was excited to see what kind of recovery items this game had to offer, and I was not disappointed! Compared to the other food in the game (read: Spider Cider), this recipe is pretty tame, but it’s absolutely perfect for the new Autumn season.

So which do you like better? Cinnamon or Butterscotch?

What better way to start our culinary exploration of EarthBound, than the very first recovery item you receive: the cookie!

A favorite of little sisters and Moms alike, the humble cookie is a popular snack for travelers about to set off on a grand adventure. Most local bakeries sell these tasty treats for $7.00, but no need to despair if that price seems a little steep. It seems as if some of the more ill-tempered crows in the area have taken a liking to this particular baked good and have even been known to steal them right out of children’s hands! If you’re feeling a bit peckish, it may do you well to check in any bird’s nests you happen to see along the way, but beware of the territorial avians you could find waiting in ambush!

An admittedly more environmentally friendly option would be to simply bake the cookies in the safety of your own home and to this end I’ve compiled a recipe for your perusal. Not only will your kitchen smell delicious, but it’ll also help you to avoid all those unsightly peck marks.

Click ‘Continue Reading’ for the recipe, and happy cooking! :]
