Lvl.1 Chef

For my first official Stardew Valley recipe I knew I wanted to to make something really special. Although the recipe I finally put together is relatively simple, the process was anything but. The number of recipe fails I experienced during the development of this one has GOT to be a new record for me! That said, I didn’t quit until I had something really delicious and I’m so proud to share the recipe with you all now :].

I swear I didn’t plan this, but what luck that I’m posting this Hi Lagaar Coffee recipe on none other than National Coffee Day! Well, I mean it’s called coffee, but as with several other posts of mine, you can’t always judge a recipe by it’s name. Indeed I have to admit that this coffee recipe doesn’t contain any coffee at all!  *gasps*

As much as I love video games, I can’t say I’m much for cell phone games. I guess I’m a sucker for a controller, but apart from Pokemon GO and maybe Monument Valley (which is amazing btw) nothing really jumps out at me. That is, until one of my friends on Twitter started posting screenshots of the game on which this week’s recipe is based, Hunt Cook: Catch and Serve.

A few months ago when I was looking through the Nintendo Wii’s virtual console for games to stream on Twitch I came across a title I didn’t recognize: Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom. I really had no idea what I was getting into, but the game seemed like it was all about food so how could I resist!?

Well that’s certainly an odd name for a cookie you may be telling yourself, and to that I do not disagree! Honestly, If you were to do google search for it you’d probably just end up with a bunch of cactus pictures and bedding advertisements. This oddly named cookie is only strange from our human perspective however. For if you were, say, a Hocotatian, you might see the world around you a little differently.

I don’t know if its because I was born and raised in the north east US or that I love the calm and quiet of a midnight snowfall, but whatever the reason, I’m a cold weather person at heart. The long, hot, and humid days of summer are pretty uncomfortable for me, even with our little air conditioner trying it’s best to keep us cool. This extends into the world of video games for me as well, as desert and lava are some of my most loathed level types (I’m looking at you Sonic & Knuckles!) Despite all this, I decided to spend some of my summer playing through Ever Oasis for the Nintendo 3DS, a game ALL ABOUT making a living in the harsh conditions of a seemingly endless desert. Maybe not the best choice now that I think of it..
