Finished recipe of the wild berry, honey and plain crepes recipes compared to the pixel sprite game item from the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild game series.

Who doesn’t love breakfast? It’s often lauded as the most important meal of the day and it’s also the meal most likely to include bacon. I love it because it’s the only meal you can get away with eating things that would otherwise be considered dessert haha. I think Link’s on the same page too as his Breath of the Wild breakfast repertoire includes not one, not two, but three different crepe recipes. This boy certainly loves his breakfast.

Finished tough meat stuffed pumpkin recipe from the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild game series compared to the pixel sprite of the in-game item.

If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that the Legendary Hero sure loves his soups. I was looking back and this is actually the fourth soup from the Legend of Zelda series that I’ve done so far and I haven’t even done the Elixer Soup from Wind Waker yet! Be that as it may, I think that this soup has been my favorite so far. I knew as soon as I came across the Tough Meat Stuffed Pumpkin in Breath of the Wild that I would be making it for myself IRL before long.

Finished recipe of the Creamy Heart Soup compared to the pixel sprite from the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild game series.

Vasaaq! June’s finally here and that means it’s gazpacho season! What better way to enjoy all of that spring and summer produce on a hot day than with a refreshingly cold cup of soup. In the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the Creamy Heart Soup is just that. For the uninitiated, a gazpacho is a cold soup made primarily with tomatoes and/or watermelon along with several other raw vegetables and herbs all blended together and eaten fresh.

To say I was excited about the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would be an understatement. In fact, if you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might remember I threw a Breath of the Wild cookout last year to celebrate its announcement. I only had a few screenshots and videos to go on at the time and I still managed to churn out 8 recipes haha. Suffice it to say that when I actually got the game in my hands I had a recipe notebook ready to go in the other hand (three hands? eh whatever.)  Anyway, I wanted to start off my Breath of the Wild recipe series with a bang, so here’s the fan favorite and number one requested recipe from my Twitter followers: the Monster Cake.

Cover photo of the finished recipe of mushroom Shroom Cake from the Super Mario Bros Paper Mario Thousand Year Door game series.

I have a confession to make, everyone: I am not a mushroom fan. Although I’m starting to come around, I still take my pizza sans shrooms and try to avoid the occasional portobello burger that comes my way. I can’t really pinpoint when I started to dislike them, but it might have something to do with those less than appetizing cans of cream of mushroom soup that would find their way all too frequently to my childhood dinner table. Whatever the case may be I’m sure you can imagine that developing this recipe was pretty challenging given my fungi aversion. Truly, the thing that got me through it was the fact I’d been sitting on dried candy cap mushrooms for the better part of a year!

Cover photo of the finished recipe of Koopa Buns from the Super Mario Bros Paper Mario Thousand Year Door game series.

As if I needed an excuse to create more food from the Paper Mario series, April is #MarioMonth for us Fandom Foodies and I just happen to be hosting! These Koopa Buns have been on the back burner (steamer?) for a lonnnggg time. I attempted them a few times last year to abysmal results that still manage to haunt me. Back then I was trying to make a basil dumpling dough with a way too sweet mango chutney filling… needless to say it was one of the worst things I’ve ever made. That being said I stepped back up to the plate this month to give them another try from a different angle and I’m actually pretty happy this time.

Finished Couple's Cake Snow Ice Cream recipe from the Super Mario Bros Paper Mario Thousand Year Door game series.

Valentine’s Day is here again and with it, another lovely video game recipe. I’ve had this one on the back burner for a long time, but unfortunately the conditions never seemed to be quite right to make it. What conditions you may ask? Why, the weather conditions of course! That’s right, this week I’m going to show you all how to cook with snow!
